Default My plan for the 4.8

I want to get a custom tune, LT headers, E-Fans, and either an oldman cam or an ls6 cam, and maybe a lower tstat.

How do you guys think this will work power wise?

I wont be able to do it all at once since i have alot to pay for right now.

Any sugestion you have please explain why you fell that way.

wont be anything radical power wise...
but will be a nice pickup from what you have now..
I would suggest a 212/218 cam on a 115LSA instead of the LS6/ or the old man cam, but thats just my personal prefrence..
theres nothing wrong with either cam, just think you would get more bang for your buck with a 212/218 cam

I dont want a major race truck yet, i am just looking to be able to beat a hemi and still drive 400 miles a week for work without losing to much gas mileage.

I chose those two cams for drivability and power band ( so i dont kick down as much on hills on the interstate when i have the cruise control on.)

you're better off just swapping in a 6.0 with a tune. It will probobly make the same or more power, cost the same (or less) and be more reliable. I dont know why the hell you'd want a lower stat, but whatever.

I eventually plan on building a motor but for now the 4.8 is what i have. Like i said i plan on slowly adding this stuff. Do you guys think it can hang with a stock VMax or a Hemi if i do this stuff?

sure... but why not start with an Lq9 and mod that later, instead of putting 4.8 parts into an Lq9

Build base first, then built on it. Not vice versa.

The efans wont matter what the motor is. as far as the headers they should bolt right up to the 6.0, and the tune i believe can also be changed for no charge (except shipping) when i upgrade. And for begin able to keep the drivability i want i would prolly still use either of the cams i had.

well.. I guess. Seems like it would be a lot easier to start with a 6.0
I wouldn't be able to justify all that stuff in a 4.8 over a 6.0 swap. It just seems to defy logic and economics.

it all depends on one's situation. I have a 4.8L, great motor, weak on power. I still have an extended warranty on my truck. It's in my best interest for now to build a full bolt-on truck and leave the actual drivetrain alone - that way eerything is ready for the 6.0 when I get there. I plan to pay off my truck shortly and I'll start saving for the 6.0 / built tranny / torque converter / long tubes swap - when I get to that swap I'll allready have damn near a full bolt on truck.
