My new project
#1
After my failed attempt to LSA supercharger my 2500 dd, I decided to buy something else to play with and leave the 2500 alone. I bought a 03 Rcsb w/ 4.8 and auto. It has 184k on the odometer, but I plan on replacing everything anyways so that doesn't bother me. The truck has some less that tasteful mods I will be removing ( billet door handles, a/c controls, headlamp ****, emblems, 22" boss wheels, etc). Ultimately I plan on building a lsx454, 4l80e, and 4.10 rear. But for the time being I will swap in a ls2 I have lying around with a kn cia and 1 7/8" headers with 4" single exhaust. Which brings me to my question, what would be a good cam choice for a completely stock ls2 and stock converter? Or would that be too much for the stock trans and rear end to handle?

It wouldn't be too much for a stock trans and rear end as long as the tune is done right. Of course even at stock LS2 power the stock trans isn't a guarantee...
A cam for a stock converter etc will be very mild. I doubt Id even spend the money for one until you've settled on other upgrades. The stock cam will be a pretty good burner right off the line.

I didn't want to spend money on a converter for the 4l60 since I will be replacing it w/ an 80e. And I didn't want to spend money on springs since the motor is only temporary as well. I assume you meant to say that at stock ls2 power the trans ISNT a guarantee
