My knocking 6.0L

This is after a drive to school and letting it sit about 2 hrs while taking a final. This is what GM calls normal noise. It doesn't burn any oil or anything like that, still runs great. Just makes a god awful noise.
I heard the knock in a couple used trucks at the dealership when I was shopping for mine. Had been sitting for awhile I guess. Terrible sound. Last time I heard something like that turned out to be a spun rod bearing in my old GTO.

Default 5.3 knocks

the 5.3 in my silverado knocks also. i was told it was normal or not to worry bout it? sounds like a lifter is knocking? my dad gets 5w30 for all our vechicles so thats what i use. Castrol gtx. does anyone elses 5.3 or 6.0 knock all the time?

That is a tick not a knock.If the pushrods were .020 longer it might cure it.My 6.0 with the heads shaved .020 is more quiet than the stock 5.3.A little tighter preload on the lifters would make the difference.
