Fast 4.8- Is that a Callies crank or Eagle? Did you get the kit from APE?

BigTex- Sweet heads. Do you mind posting flow numbers? For comparision. Are they cut any? If so, how much?

I don't have the complete flow sheet here, but the flow numbers @ .600 lift were 330 intake and 279 exhaust. At .500 lift, they have 302 intake and 260 exhaust flow. They have only been milled .010 to get a good surface. I've got them setup for a 69cc chamber. I'm planning a mild 10.7:1 CR for pump gas.

I think they look great too. Here is what they looked like 4 months ago when parish8 pulled them off his last blown motor:

Amazing what some CNC machine work, new valves, seats, guides, springs, retainers, and a hand (port) job will do for you.

My compression will be 10.5 on my 408. Next time I am in Dallas, I will have to stop by and talk to you. Plus I can see what I am up against.
I just ordered my camshaft (230,230@112+4), it seems small to me but, Thunder seems to think it will be perfect for me. Torque at every point in the powerband.

I personally think thats a good cam, but would install it 4* retarded to make it straight up 112 ICL. You'll have plenty of torque with the stroker, by pulling out that +4, you'll end up with more breathing room on the top without hurting low end.

What heads are you going to run? You got your APE shortblock delivered recently, didn't you?

I work in the Arlington / Euless area, so I'm not far away from you.

So the milling got rig of all the dents left by the spit rings? Sweet job they did with them.

Greg, you have a 6.0 block laying around somewhere? Your sure to run mid 12s with a good 408 and traction.

I do have a APE rotating assembly, the block is at the machine shop right now. I am using my old 6.0 heads with slightly bigger valves and porting done by Lloyd Elliot. They flowed 308@600 with the stock valves.
