Default Mutant truck is on stand by (also cam question)

i've been solve a low oil pressure problem for the last month. I replaced the stock gauge with another one hoping that the problem would go away. Then I bought an autometer gauges just to be sure. Problem still there. Next was to pull the engine and check for the front and rear plugs that allow the oil to go up to the rockers. The plugs cap off the oil passage and make the oil go up instead of back down in the oil pan. Well, the plugs were there. BTW, they are behind the timing cover (bottom right) and behind the flywheel, then behind a plate on the left.
I then pulled the oil pan, and as soon as I lowered the pan I heard a clink, clink, clonk. It ended up being a piece of bearing. The other half was lodge in the windage tray and another small section in the pan. It must be a cam bearing, because I had no knocks and obviously the low oil pressure.
I'll tear into it some more today and find out what that bearing belongs to. It's almonst unrecongnizable, all smushed, and torn up.

So, valvegod is taking care of me and building me another one. That leads me to the cam question. I want a cam that has a medium loppy idle and gives me the most power, of course.
I have a 2600 Yank stall and will be going with 4.10 gears. This is going in my 94 RC. Even if I can't take advantage of a certain cam because of the lower stall that's fine. I plan on going with a 3500 stall soon. I'm also considering the 8.1L injectors just in case these small truck injectors can't keep up.

thanks in advance,

Allen (Farmtruc)

Sorry to hear about the problems Allen. What exactly is valvegod doing for you?

You might think about a custom grind Comp cam. Many of the car guys are having good luck with faster ramp rates. Personally, I'd try to find a cam that will keep as much low end as possible, yet extend out to at least 6000 rpms.

I'm gonna shoot you a PM.
