Anyone see these new coil packs from MSD for LS1 engines? I saw them in a mail order catalog and wonder if they are worth the money. They are $75 a piece and claim to produce a higher output spark and deliver multiple sparks.


Aren't the factory ones good enough?

 

Waste of money IMO. These will be worthless unless you are making over 1000 rwhp.
BTW, they are not coil packs Coil packs are attached together....Sorry, just a peeve of mine. The 87 Buick GN had a Coil Pack.

 

I wouldn't think that they would be much better than the factory ones but its possible. Most of the factory ignition is pretty strong. I definately couldn't see spending $75 each on them, I highly doubt they are worth that kind of $.

 

RED coils = 600.00 I Don't Think So!

 

Save your money my friends! Just get a fairly nice set of plug wires and be done with it. Those coils are kinda pointelss to me.
