Default Motor is out finally!!!

Well, it sucks only being able to work on it a half hour here,an hour there. Finally, tonight before I left work I got it pulled. Now I just have to get it to my friends shop and tear it down to assess the damage.
4 or 5 more months and it will be back up and running

Yep, the knock started getting pretty nasty after the dyno runs. Knocked all the time, hot or cold.Still ran good, but I wasnt going to push my luck and keep driving it. It sucks not being able to drive it. Everywhere i go I see a potential race and nothing to race in

Sounds like a piston knock,I'm thinking one must be cracked. It sounds like the usual piston slap only amplified 100 times and it does it all the time.

Welcome to the motorless club! I have driven my truck about 50 miles since Dec 1. I am waiting on parts to build another motor but it looks like at least another month for me. My local track starts test n tune back up on Feb 28 so I am hurrying. I am anxious to hear what you find when you tear that thing down. I you end up needing a block let me know I now have an extra one.

Yea Randy, keep us up to date on whats going on and let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Also remember Curt has some spare 6.0 parts laying around if you need them.

Thanks guys,
I'll keep yall updated. I know I'm going to be asking for a ton of advice and asking lots of questions.
Anyone have any ideas on some inexpensive tricks I can do to squeeze some more hp/tq out of it?? I think I may get the heads polished to flow better but not ported. I dont think a ported head is very benificial for a boosted application. What do you think? If the damage is not too bad I may go with a cam too,not sure yet. I cant wait to tear it down so I can get an idea of what the cost is going to be. It would sure be sweet to pull 500rwhp next time on the dyno
Well,we all gotta have dreams I guess. I'll really just be happy as hell when it's back running again
