I've always gotten the same advice about heads with FI. If you have a crappy head to start off with then yeah having a good ported set will defiantely help. If you start off with decent ones then the gains may be marginal. I would think that it's going to vary a bit depending on how much power were working with though. Say it might be more noticible when you are running 20+ PSI and getting close to 1000rwhp than if you were running 8psi and only 400rwhp.

Invest in a phone call to AFR and ask what they suggest as far as sealing 22lbs of boost.I bet they will be helpful, they log in on the internal engine forum and probably already know about your truck.

i can run way over 22psi with the megasquirt, the map will only read to 22psi but you can overfuel it a little at 22psi so it is correct at 25psi or even higher. there are people running 30psi on the 22psi map. i will be upgrading to the 3bar map or even the 4 bar map if there is an issue at all. since i am running closed loop WOT fueling it will correct itself to some degree.

right now 22psi is NUTS, with heads 22psi will be really nuts.
