Is there any particular reason why you would not want to run an electric one?

I'd try to mount it to the wiper cowl in a teardrop pod.

If you going to run a mech fuel gauge in the cab, you need one of these. You don't want a plastic line with high pressure gas running into the inside of your truck,

I'm definitly leaving the gauge on the outside of the cab. I am just looking for some pictures of this type of setup on a silverado....

I was thinking about mounting it on the hood with just a little slack in the line so the hood can open.
