Is taking out screen from Mass Air sensor worth it??? has anybody had any issues with the sensors??? thanks

so if you take it out can it cause bad fuel mileage?

 

I took mine out with no problems. Some people do have problems with it. I would say leave it alone it isn't worth it.

 

No... It will cause inacurate air readings.

 

They should have a message when u enter the truck forums...."leave your MAFS alone"....theres to many post on this!

 

The only purpose of the screen is to smooth out air flow over the sensor so it gets an accurate reading. Removing it causes the maf to get poor reading due to the turbulence that is in the nature of the piping. So theres your accual reason why to leave it alone, smooth flowin air over sensor is good

 

I had massive pinging after removing mine....bought a new MAF with screen installed and the pinging went away...leave it alone!!!
