Default Making power at altitude?

I talked to a guy in the Denver area that suggested i go with a much larger cam then was recommended by Comp and Vinci. His rational is that because of the altitude you need more lift and duration to get more air into the engine than at sea level. He said the cams that I mentioned with 208-212 duration would not make much difference from stock. He is recommending 224-228 duration and 580 lift on a 112-113 lsa.

I explained to him that I am looking for more low and mid range tq. for my 05 Avalanche 5.3. He also said I will not loose low end and a stock stall will work fine.

Does this sound right?

If you told both Comp and Vinci about your altitude, then I would take their advice before "a guy in the Denver area". The two cams that I bought from Comp, under their recommendation, made the engine run exactly like they said it would.
Altitude is why they invented forced induction, for airplanes, you know.

I should have said the guy has alot of experience building and tuning LS engines.

I did email Aaron at Comp and he disagreed so I am going to go with his recommendation.

I wold love to go FI just a little more than I want to spend.
