Question Magnaflow spun cats WTF???

I just got these p/n 59979 angled cats. The angle would be great for these trucks due to the limited space, but the angled end doesn't have enough pipe there to clamp to! I could put the angled end right on my pacesetters, and maybe weld on a v-clamp, but then that side is NOT 3" anyways, it's 3 3/32" wide ID. These things are goofy. I know I've seen them around here, so how are they attaching them?

I might just go get the same ones, only the straight type that you can actually clamp things to, and figure out the bends later.

yeah those cats are crap imo . dont use them on a boosted motor they will not last . i was told it was my fault but on a boosted app that will see high egt i can tell you they are a waste of time . gut them and pass visual is about all they are good for.

the way i installed them was weld v band on one end and then the y pipe end on the other. i dont remember mine being that large on the inside though . they fit right with 3 inch pipe , if not slide the 3 inch in a little and then weld it up .

Yeah I read thru your thread last nite. Kinda scary looking at those photos. Problem is, I'm stuck with these cuz they're the only ones that are short enough to work. I'm going up and over the crossmember.

I can't believe they want us to weld this up. There should be alot more meat there to support the weld. I guess if I ever have an exhaust leak I'll know right where to look for a crack.

Someone oughtta make a cat that has an angled exit pipe that a guy could weld stuff to.
