Default Magnaflow replacement muffler pics (giant pics now shrunken)

The question has been asked many times, but I've never seen pics of a direct replacement muffler put in place of the stocker using the stock pipes. I used the Magnaflow 14589 5x11 oval 3" center/offset. As you can see, the welder made up the gap between the 3" inlet/outlet and the 2.75" tailpipes with no problem. He was even able to retain the stock hangars without adding any additional pipe. for $150 total installed, I'd say definitely take your muffler of choice and do this as opposed to a full catback.

It sounds just like I wanted, near to stock when cruising, with a nice bark at higher rpm's, no drone at all.

nice welds, pics are a little to big, unless you have a 20"+ screen. Does it run any different?

EDIT: Resized ala BigTex's fix below.

Hard to compare how it runs since I had my 4.10's installed today too, but you can see daylight through the thing, so I know its freer flowing than that garbage pail of a stocker.

There is a place up by me here around Humble that does welding and exhaust work. Any non-meineke type exhaust shop should be able to take care of it.

This is the exact same muffler that I have in my factory position. Keep in mind that this is the 22" long body Maganflow not the shorter one. If you use the shorter one you would have to use extra tubing.

Mine was like $100 for the muff (online deal) and $20 for install (local hole in the wall shop).

$20 welded in? the shorter muff will be a little louder correct? i am deciding between that and the hooker aero chamber but ill have a turn down underneath so ill actually be cutting the pipes

Our muffler shop charges about 25 for welding it in... Glad you like it!

Everything else being equal, shorter generally means louder.

DOWNLOAD THIS . Its a free add-on to windows that allows you to easily resize pictures. After install, you can right click on a picture (or several) and choose "resize pictures". It then gives you a choice of standard sizes to choose from. Very quick and easy.
