I just picked up a 02' 1/2ton Yukon XL. It looks like the exhaust merges after the cats to a single 3" tube into the huge stock muffler and then exits the muffler via twin tubes that merge back to one as they bend over the axle.
I just want to replace the muffler as everything seems like it would flow well otherwise. I think the magnaflow 5x11 that has a 22" body with single 3" in and dual 3" out is the one I need.

Has anyone else done this, and if so, how did you like it?

That's the Magnaflow that I just put on my '00 Sierra and I like it better than the Flowmaster or the Imco setups I've had before. At idle, it's a little bit louder than stock...sounds great under acceleration and NO highway drone like the Flowmaster & Imco.

I just installed a magnaflow 5x11x22 dual 2 1/2 in dual 2 1/2 out and it sounds great Im very pleased.

 

i have the magnaflow hd muff and it is great

 

I have the 22x11x8 dumped before the axle, it sounds good...pretty mellow. The 5x11x22 youre looking at should sound great through stock exhaust.

Ive got the 5X11X22 catback and i love it.. everyone has flows around here but me.. and you can definetely tell the difference.. oh yea.. sounds great at idle.. mellow at cruising, but when you get on it, you know its there..
