I swapped to a 2.5" in/out 14" Magnaflow from a cheap 2 chamber that was the same size. I like the tone better, but it is still pretty quiet. After the muffler there is about a foot of pipe exiting out the side in front of the tire. I've got a Wheatley mail order tune and a better flowing intake tract.

What might switching to Mac mid-length headers and Off Road Y-pipe do to the performance and sound?

 

well for one thing it will definitely be louder cause the cats won't be there. The cats also help take the edge off the sound, so the exhaust note will be sharper probably.

I found the clip where you had a cutout open or something. Did you do any through the full exhaust? What muffler did you have at that time?

More importantly, did you notice much of a performance increase after installing?
