If i remember correctly, they let too much heat out of the exhaust to light off the cats. A shorty header or maybe the thorley is about all you can get by with to be "legal"...

thats bogus! is it even worth it for me to change over then? btw - it is soon the whippled. so my best bet is some mid-lenghts...any brands?

Hate to be Mr. Negative, but I don't think Whipples are CARB approved either, at least they didn't used to be. Maybe they've changed? As for the exhaust, I would leave the stock manifolds on. They are almost shorty headers in themselves, not like the clunky things automakers used in the 1960's. I bought shorties for my '03 and will be the first to admit that it was a waste of money, save for the bling-bling effect. Hope this helps.

The Radix should be able to blow your rings out the tailpipe, rods through side of the block, and pushrods through your hood.
Most guys here will vouch for the Radix. It is emission legal.

im pretty sure whipples are carb approved. however i found that all longtubes arent. looks like ill either be sticking to the stockers, or finding a way around the system. since its new i dont have to worry about smog for 5 more years!

Are you going to run the Whipple with the auxillary injectors and piggyback computer system or all new injectors and a custom tune?
