Default LT1 help please

I know this really isnt the best place for teh question but Im not a member to anyother site with the knowledge of this one so here goes....

My buddy bought a 94 t/a (lt1) and it was runnin. Didnt run like a champ btu ran. We changed the plugs(THAT WAS FUN) put a new alternator on it and battery. It ran after installing all this. Well it died about 1 mile from the house yesterday. we got it to finally start by jumpin it. Now it wont do NOTHIN but turn over.....not firing. No codes are thrown....no wires are burnt Coils are clean.

Could a Bad MAF sensor do this. we did clean it off and it had ALOT of dirt and chit in it. But the car ran after cleanin the MAF. Could it have jumped timing?

This sounds like the world famous opti spark problems. It probably finally let go, but before you go replacing the whole distributor I would check to see if it is getting spark. Also check to see if you are getting power to the coil with a multi meter, then check to see if the coil is bad. Hope this helps
