Default LT headers & true duals??

Hi guys! first post but been lurking for a long time. very informative site!

Anyways to my question, I currently have stock manifolds and cats, no y pipe, dual magnaflows. Im looking to go to LT headers (coated ps's) and wanted to get some input on how i should go about it

1. Install LTs and have shop reweld onto existing dual setup (but scared of losing too much back presure)
vs
2. Install LTs switch back to y-pipe and only use of my magnaflows

Also im debating about going catless since i just passed emisions and im good for 2 years.

I also plan to cam within 6 mths and maybe pro/super/turbocharge next year.

My vote is lt's, cat less y pipe and use one of your magnaflows. That's the set up I have and it performs well and sounds great. I did have a single 3" tailpipe ran over the axle and dumped in front of the rear bumper. It took care of any resonance I had. I like the benefits of a tailpipe but like the clean look of not seeing it. Just my .02.

Exhaust systems needing back pressure is a myth. If you already have duals, no reason not to use them.

Yea thats my debate. Especially trying to decide between 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 headers??

So far one vote for y pipe and one for duals. Need a tiebreaker lol.

Thanks!

Is there a specific ARP part number to replace my stock header bolts?

I ran 2.5" duals dumped after mufflers and lost ALOT of low end, swapped to 3"ORY SI/DO dumped and gained it all back.
just my experience

3" all the way after the long tubes. You don't need true duals but sure does sound better.

Yea I love the way they sound. Either way I go im gonna have to take it to the exhaust shop. Stupid me didnt get a x pipe so if keep duals I was gonna add one at that point.

Can this loss of "back pressure" be rectified with a tune (BB tune)?

A friend suggested I go ory to si/do magnaflow and it would really help my low end. I think hes right but hate the thought of redoing my entire exhaust.

Also what do you guys think about header size? 1 3/4 or the larger 1 7/8. Its only $80 dollars difference but will this be overkill for my exhaust = too much flow
