Ls6 swap
#1
Has anyone here ever done the ls6 in a nbs truck? I may have a good deal on one with around 8k on it and was wondering if anyone has done this. Im sure its close to if not the same as an ls1 swap, just curious tho.

I put an LS1 longblock in my truck and used the truck wiring, intake/exhaust manifolds and accessories. If you have all of the car accessories on the LS6, I don't think that it would be too hard to keep the LS6 intake, but I'm not 100% sure of any differences between the car and truck wiring harnesses. There are some modifications needed to use the car (LS1 or 6) intake and the truck accessories--some here on the board have done that--but I can't think of anyone who has done a swap using all of the car accessories.
IMO, it would be a lot easier to just swap the truck intake and accessories onto the LS6 longblock. There's only one bolt on the truck A/C compressor bracket that doesn't have a boss on the LS1 block, and I don't think that the LS6 block is any different, if at all.
The swap is more or less just changing out the long block if you keep all of your truck accessories.
