Default LS6 intake vs Converter

Im on the fence here. I'll be swapping in a 5.7 with 243 heads in the next couple of months, to replace the 4.8. I just bought an LS6 intake, and have come to find that the gains vs the cost and hassle of installing it, just arent worth the upgrade. The ls6 intake shows an improvement over the stock truck intake above 5500 rpms, but my truck shifts at 6000rpm. I dont see that being worth the hassle of modifying accessories, fuel rails, injectors, and all that crap.

While the engine is out, it would be an ideal time to install a new converter. I was looking at the circle D 2800-3200. I figured I could always swap intakes later down the road a hell of a lot easier than swapping converters. I could sell the intake to buy the converter.

Which would be the better SOTP upgrade?

No question, the converter is the better choice by large margin!

its a landslide. The converter will outperform an intake swap every time.

I'm tellin you... grab a TBSS 87mm truck intake and you will get he best of both worlds. It will perform like a typical truck intake down low, and like the LS6 at higher RPM. Then you can tun the TBSS engine cover, which is also pretty cool.

Convertor will give better results!
But if you do a intake do the 87/90mm setup like mentioned.

Is this a real question? Intake makes maybe 15 hp. Converter will drop .3 at least and maybe .5+ odd you 1320.
