hey lance - looks like you used the truck pulley on the water pump. did you take it in and have a machine shop do the pulley swap? also how far down was the truck pulley pressed on to the car pump? how's the idle/off idle and part-throttle response?

looks good. i need to get off my azz and do mine.

congrats, hope it works well

Id like to throw this out for discussion

Only thing I question is the VC vent
arent you pulling vacume from behind the TB?

If I understand correctly
the design of the TB is to pick up fresh air for the crankcase (+)
and pull vac on the pcv side (-)

Great write up Lance, can't wait till you get it 100% and back to the track/dyno.

the only way i know of by using the truck injectors with the ls1/ls6 intake, is to use the truck fuel rail like kano an v8 did.

yes i did swap to the truck pulley but you don't have to. the f body pulley sits alot closer to the wp so all you really need to do is pull it out some to line up with the other accessories. i just went ahead and pulled the f body one completly off and pressed on the truck one. it was a pita. a butane torch comes in handy when taking it off and pressing it back on. the 3 jaw puller and an impact was what i used to press the pulley off. i just kinda eyeballed the truck pulley when i hammered it back down on the pump with a big socket to line it up. it idles pretty much like it did before. mid throttle feels great but still haven't really hammered on it.

thanks man, i hope it does also. i was kind of worried about that behind my mind. i've only changed the IFR table to compensate for the bigger injectors tuning wise. i've noticed the IAC is like wide open now and when you let off the gas while cruising it's like cruise control. also when coming to a complete stop, it wants to die. if it dies and you crank it up right after, it jumps up to 2500 upon start up. maybe i need to try what you did by installing that nip. the cable guys don't have to worry about this b/c their nip is on the tb. like i said it hasn't been tuned yet but that might fix the broblems i'm having so far. if you think i'm on the right track let me know. thanks dude.

Good write-up! Will you be doing a dyno comparison? Did you loose any low-end in the 5.3, below 2500rpms? Please give us some more details on the power difference!

thanks guys. i need to get with my guy to see if he has his dyno set up yet. he just moved shops.

kano, did your nipple mod. went for a test run and it seems to have fixed the surging problem. it also runs a whole lot better.

finally went WOT for 2 seconds b/c of zero traction. the tach couldn't even keep up. it was on the rev @ 6800 from 1st to 2nd shift.
