Arrow LS2 swap?

If you could get your hands on either a LS2 or an iron block 6.0L to drop into your truck what would you choose? I’ve been wanting to build up a 6.0L for a turbo and drop it into my ‘01 GMC this winter but now that the C6’s are on the streets I have started to notice a few LS2’s out of crashed cars for sale. And I am just wondering if it would be a good idea to hold off on the iron block 6.0L and save up a little more to get a LS2 or maybe a LS7 (once they are out and if I could ever find one that wasn’t going for an out of this world for price). Now I do realize that if I did that swap that I wouldn’t be able to go turbo right away but that is ok, I’d just wait. I think it would be pretty cool to have a C6/Z06 engine in a fairly stock looking GMC 4x4. What would be some issues to look out for in attempting this swap and what problems might arise after doing the swap? Other than speeding tickets… I already plan on doing a 4L80E swap and a couple of other “heavy duty” type modifications to the drive train.

I think the problem people are having is the sensors are in different places. I ahven't heard of anyone doing this yet, but am keeping an eye out. I am guessing alot of engine codes would be thrown if yu could even get it to run. For a turbo I would still build the 6.0.

I wouldn't be going turbo with a LS2 for a long time anyway, and once i did it would be fairly low boost. But thank you for your help man.

Ask yourself if this is the platform you want to build on in the first place when considerng an LS2 swap. Sure t would be cool to say what you have and all, but think about this. A 6.0 iron block is almost a no headache transplant. Throw in a nice cam and/ or other available goodies (90mm FAST intake & T/B) and your off. And the turbo bolts right in BTW. I give you props for the line of thinking if you talkng sleeper city on the LS2. No doubt it can be done. Are you ready to take that challenge?

I remember reading that someone swaped an LS1 into a new C6 as a shop/track car. They where going the other way but if can find there work and see what had to be done and just think it backwards you can use that as a referance as to how hard of a swap the LS2 would be.
