Default ls2 install

I was wondering if anyone has done this yet to there truck? I am thinking aboutit and was wondering if I can use my stock 2002 harness and computer? I know I would need to reprogram it but the engines look the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think so. The LS1 style engine is a GenIII design and the LS2 is a GenIV. Maybe they look alike but there are differences...such as electronic throttle-body control vs the older linkage style. JMO, there are other guys who know a LOT more about this than me...hopefully, they'll chime in with their ideas.

Depending on what you plan to do it is a direct bolt in. The knock sensors are different, and if you use the intake and TB it comes with there will be a problem with the harness plugging into the TB. If you use the long block and your manifold then you only have to contend with the knock sensors, and SDPC has the adapter harness for those. If you are looking for the weight savings of the aluminum motor then I say go for it, if you are just looking for the added cubes, buy an LQ9......Less money, and drop it in.

Knock sensors are different. Along with the crank and cam sensors.
