Default LS2 bearing failed...

So I'm looking at a few options and rather large bills...

Pulled the trigger and dropped it off for R&R and strip to short block.

- from that point block and crank are off to LEP for their forged short block
LEP 370" LS2 Forged Short block

Given my location I feel pretty lucky and it's been reccomended that I get my heads CNC'd by WCCH (243's) no plans on milling.

Plan/goals
It's a DD with the VRX-3 so if cam is good I'll still use it. I'm for sure on a budget here. We've spoke of giving it a slight bump in compression while obviously sticking with pump gas so 11:1? it's pretty bold given the conservative cam I currently have but I'd like to see 4xx at the wheels, (or am I dreaming?)

I'd like to hear some options or what others have done. I'm obviously looking for maximum return on this w/o breaking the bank or doing all the machine work and going 402, that's just not in the budget right now.

I already have kooks 1 3/4 with cats and a Phoenix Trans with 2800 stall.

You are definately going to be happy with that 370!!!ill have to go in there and take a look at your block. Garth is great. I think he could definately steer you in the right direction.
I think atleast high 300's to the wheels would be possible with a cam, and heads worked over.

My old SS was 340rwhp with limited bolt-ons and zero internals so i dont see why you couldnt pick up 60 with a cam and heads.

Sorry to hear man, but if your anything like me, your secretly excited to play the mod game again!

I was following your 3 day journey with your Trans on the other forum lol.

I may be driving the block over myself if I'm still on leave. Just enough time to hop over drop it off and hit the road again.

Vegas, hell of a place to end up after Ak.

look into upgrading your oil pan while it is out. i hear it's common for the tbss oil pan to go dry on hard launches. the pick up tube inst far enough back or something like that so when the oil gets sloshed back into the back of the pan, the pick up tube is running dry. could be the explanation for your bearings going south.

Thanks Stewart, it sure is.... Crappy front sump design. I've only got 42k miles on it. And depending on what bearing it is I'm pretty sure the finger can be pointed at that oil starvation issue. This time around I'm going with the C6 oil pan.

Turns out it was the cam bearings that were wiped out... It's coming along I'll continue to update this after she gets buttoned up with a few things...
