LS2 and LQ9 use the same floating pin rods.

Although the pistons are similar between the two, there is actually a difference when it comes to the rings... Found this out the hard way when repairing an LS2

The LS2 Block will bolt right in. The difference will be the knock sensors and the cam sensor.

The Gen 3 engine in your vehicle will have 2 knock sensors in the middle of the block under the intake.

The LS2 Falls under the Gen 4 engine and will have the knock sensors on the side of the block. They will also be a different style of knock sensor.

The Gen 3 Engine Reads the cam signal from the rear of the cam.
On The Gen 4 the Engine reads the cam signal from the front cam wheel.

You can buy an extension harness to work with the LS2 cam sensor in the front of timing cover as well as an extension harness for the LS2 knock senors. Then you can have the tune adjusted for the knock senors to work properly with your vehicle. Its going to need a tune any way so make sure they account for the different knock sensors.

I wanna say that's correct, I remember using thicker 1.5 top rings on my Pistons when I assembled the motor..... But that was 5 years ago.

They are usually a 1.5, 1.5, 3.0

I believe the LS2 is a 1.2,1.5, 2.5

Wanna say the aluminum block engines use the different rings, remember having to deal with that while looking for my pistons and rings for my engine....
