LS1 Truck??????
#1
Hello,
I stongly believe that I am the only idiot that is going to try to put an LS1 into a perfectly good 2002 single cab pickup.
I recently purchased a destroyed LS1 from my shop. It is out of a 99 Vette. It needs a crank and a rod. The rest of the motor looks fine. I plan to buy a stock crank and rod. I would like to know if a forged crankshaft is worth the money or to just save my money. I also plan to have the heads ported.
I want to transplant this motor into my pickup. I would like to see a Chevrolet leave a Lightning. I wandering what yall would suggest. Such as a good camshaft that makes very good torque and decent horsepower at a low rpm, 1500 to 6000 rpm.
Sorry for the questions.

That swap has been done before. Check out the LS1 Truck section of the site HERE
I installed a 2001 6.0L into a Reg. Cab shortbed 2wd pickup. I think it may do good against a lightning since it runs 13.50's N/A, it was built for N20 also... <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
