Default LS1 or LS6 manifold???

I am trying to decide which route to go on building an intercooler setup for the Whipple. I am seeking opinions on if you guys think it would be worth the extra $$$ for an LS6 intake over an LS1 intake. I am thinking that with the forced induction the gains would be minimal, but what do you all think??

LS6 if you decide to swap. Most of the LS1 guys go for an LS6 or 5.3 intake. Like you said. The gains may be minute. You might be better off with your truck intake.

Yes, I am going to infrige on Ryans copyrights lol. I am leaning towards the LS1 but I am not afraid to spend the extra $200 or so for some decent gains.

Most of the articles show minimal gains and ONLY from 3500rpm on up. We're talking like 6-10 total HP with an average HP gain of around 5. The article even showed better performance at lower rpm's with the stock truck model!
If you plan to build a screamer then you might check out the LS6 else save your money for a smaller whipple pulley!

Tex-That was my first plan, but I started looking into the cost of getting it converted for injectors, buying fuel rails, etc. Then it takes away from the factory look too. I have studied Ryans setup and it is obvious he put a lot of engineering into it and with the plastic intake it just looks like it belongs. I was afraid that the carb intake would just be too ugly!

I agree, but I like the idea. You mean having a whipple hanging off the pass side of the engine looks factory?

Since the runner length and design aren't as big of a factor with boost, I'd pick the intake with the least restrictive opening, and best flowing runners.

I seem to remember the CHP intake tests on stock motors didn't show much HP difference, but when cams were thrown into the mix the gains were much greater.

I believe it was LS1----truck----LS6----FAST

What about a LS2 intake w/ either a TPiS or FAST TB?
