Only downfall I see with going with LS1 over a 6.0 is cost. LS1s usually go for a lot more than you came get a 6.0 for.
My LS1 made a huge difference over the 5.3 but its got a lot of miles and it felling a little worn out, so its time for something new. I'm in the process right now of building up a LQ9.

Right, but whats your take on performance, mods and stuff. I guess im looking at comparison between the 6.0 and the ls1.

Everything external that bolts to your 4.8 will bolt directly up to the LS1. I only had one bolt on the Alternator bracket that I couldn't use but theres like three other bolts so I didn't worry about it.

In reality they are both almost the exact same size (5.7 - 6.0) that all the mods you do would be the same for either one. One is not going to really perform better with the same mods than the other per say.
I think the main difference is the structual stability of them, where as the iron bolt is going to be able to handle more HP than the Alum block in stock form. But you shouldn't have to be worring about that unless you start pushing alot of boost, high revving, or spraying.

money is your only option, unless the vendors are accepting sexual favors.

I dont think the extra grand or two for the aluminum LS1 is worth it over the LQ9. Its 70 lbs out of 4500 (me its 5500 anway)

the LQ4/9 have better heads, more displacement and such.
you wont notice 70bs in a heavy truck
