ls1 edit worth it?
#1
Im just starting into the mods for my new truck. first one was a superchager.
I think something might be wrong with my truck and was wondering if ls1 edit had the capibility to diognos the problems and fix them? Also on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not good) how easy is it to learn and figure out? I curently have the new whipple programmer but it did no real good. my shifts are sloppy. it also removed tm but im not satisifed with spending 525 bucks for only to have my torque manegement removed. So im thinking about returning the programmer and getting ls1 edit. So, is it worth it? I need as much info as you guys can give please.

Considering the $25 price difference between the whipple programmer and the LS1-edit I definitely get the edit. It isn't the easiest to to learn, I've got it and I'm learning to but the ability to adjust shift strategies, wheel tire size, gear, TQM , shift speeds and frirmness.(+ engine tuning) I would get Edit hell its not the most ethical thing but you can read the PCM stock, with the Whipple tuning and compare them and duplicate it with edit. I 've got files on all mine stock, flashed(radix tune) dyno tune , and HPP3 tune w/ 89-91 octane tuning . I've learned more doing comparisons to these than anything else. plus usually you can get a $120-150 credit by using your edit when somebody tunes it on a dyno.

I addition you'll probably find your whipple tuning very Rich with conservative timing pull a little fuel and add a little timing in the boost ranges and you'll pick up power.

do yout think it might be better to just get a predator?
I like the fact that its a scan tool too.
how much can i get a scan tool for such as auto tap or efi alive?

No, EDIT is way way more advanced than the Predator. You can do everything you can imagine and then some with EDIT. The downside is you need a scan tool. I got AutoTap Enhanced for all cars for ~$475. I think it is a bit less for just the domestic version.
EFI Alive only works with the LS1/6 motors, won't work on the trucks.

THe one that ships on the CD won't work with my truck, but the one on the website to download does. It's a leter version and different build.
Edit is a bit harsh to look at, but Flem's right. You can cownload the Whipple tune before you send that back and then duplicate it on another flash file and re-flash your PCM after you uninstall the Whipple tune. That's what I did with my HPP3 before I got the blower on there.
