Default ls1 cam

i have a 02 - 5.3L single cab st/side -- with borla-t/b- ram air -hyper tech- AND LS1 CAM- that picked me up 32hp after 4400rpm- but it fells like i lost a little power down low - the dyno didnt go below 2500rpm-so i cant tell from that --last night at the track it whent 15.4@92mph best-- tha last time i was at the track it ran a 14.92@93mph with stock cam-better tires- and a little better air i thank-- last night 15.4-2.34 60' before-- 14.9--2.15 60' running uncaped ex- both times -- my ? is did the cam hurt me ? and do i need to run the exaust to keep some low end power (new tires are coming soon) also what will no cats going thr- the borla do for me !! thanks tj

Depends on how much you lost down low. You say you are up 42hp peak? How much lower are you non-peak?

You can easily check the DA for the 2 nights if you still have the timeslips so you can rule out any differences in conditions.

Obviously your 60' on the last run is why you went so much slower ET wise than you did with the stock cam. But you also lost 1mph which is no biggy. Most cars can fluctuate that much on the same night.

My guess is either you lost alot of low end power with the new cam and since you don't have a real converter you can't take advantage of the new cam, or you are not shifting high enough, or the DA was much worse last night than your old best.

get a stall convertor and drag radials and you will drop at least to 14.4

I just got a new 00 f-body cam. would I keep some low end torque if I advanced the cam 4 degrees until I get a converter or bigger motor?
