Lq4 needing more towing power

I'm doubting those figures above (EDIT: on previous page). In MY experience I lost low end with exhaust that was too big. I think 3" max on the exhaust and go with the LQ9 pistons for a stock bore. Port and polish the stock heads because they flow like 243s, and will not be needed with the upped compression from the pistons. Finally, put a small cam (I am no expert on cams so call any mfgr, TSP or Vengeance for specs needed.) Probably looking at $2500 tuned. Safe, reliable and cheap (relatively) for a full rebuild with nice gains. Gears with a locker in the rear and rebuild kits for both diffs will probably run less than 2k installed. Pretty penny, but I hear it helps alot on the low end. Parts are expensive..... Good luck.

I have a 215/215 .566/.566 114LSA cam in my stock LQ4 and it towed great. Really pulls good with the turbo
