Default LQ4 or LQ9??

I know the hp difference but what would be better for me? I am guessing LQ9 since I don't plan on running any "crazy" power adder. I may put a ProCharger or Whipple on it down the road and will probably do a cam right off, but that's it. I figure when the trans gives up in the Av, I'll do a 6.0, 4L80E, and HD Tcase.

I have heard people say that the LQ4 and LQ9 heads are the same but I think I may be missing something there. My understanding was the LQ4 head was a basic head and the LQ9 head was basically the same ports as an LS6 head but with larger combustion chambers. Is what I read on head info wrong??

according to the new LS1/LS6 book, LQ4/LQ9 heads are the same.

the only diference is the pistons. lq9 has a flattop and lq4 has a slight dish. 10.0 compared to 9.4 compresion.

the lq4 is usualy cheaper. if you are thinking blower down the road i would definatly go with the lower compresion and save the money too. lq4 is my vote.
