Lq4 Cam selection

Hi there,
I'm new to this forum
And from Norway..
I am looking for torque in the Operating RPM Range: 800 and up,
Building a new engine.
Block Lq4
bore 4.005 in.
stroke 3.622 in.
Deck Height 9.235
Piston:
pro LS 2618 Forged Piston, 4.005 bore, 1.326 C.H., 2cc Flat top
Compression Ratio 10.7:1.
Connecting Rods:
Eagle SIR I-Beam SIR6100NL
Crank with associated parts are for balancing.
Cylinder heads:
243 Cathedral
Combustion chamber volume: 64cc
- Intake runner volume: 237cc
- Exhaust runner volume: 86cc
- Intake valve diameter: 2.00in
- Exhaust valve diameter: 1.55in
I have listed 2 camshafts, but there are many more to choose from.
which cam is best for this engine setup?
BTR, Stage 1 Truck V2, 206 int./212 exh. Duration, 0.553 in./0.553 in.
Lift, 112 LSA
TSP Stage 2 High Lift Truck Cam: 212/218 .600/.600 112 LSA
Anyone tried this setup?
Trying to get the torque as far down the RPM range as possible, from 800 and up.

gt4 3.73 gearing
4L65 transmission.

That "Stage 2" cam is well and widely known to be suitable for such a situation. Although, since the stock torque converter stalls at about 1750 or 1800 RPM, torque at 800 isn't that much of an issue, since the engine will never be at that low RPM when power is being called for. That's the cam I would choose.

How much are you towing? Tire size?
Maybe some 4.10 gears will help? That won't actually get you any torque at low RPMs, but rather will increase the RPM so you can get the power to the ground.
To get more TQ at lower RPMs, have you considered a stroker crankshaft? That will increase displacement, and will yield more torque down low. 3.90 or 4.00 stroke.

Order a custom Cam Motion 204/210 112+0 .553/.570.
