Lower Compression Heads!
#1
Is there any advantage to running 6.0 heads on my whipple charged 5.3
Dont superchargers like lower compression...
If so what kinda compression would we be talking...
Is the horsepower gains worth the money???

I would think the 6.0 heads would get you in the 8.5 range for compression. Plus the better flow. You would probably lose some boost and have to step down the pulley though. I am trying ot get money together for a set of 6.0 heads and a cam swap.
Also the lower compression allows you to run more boost on pump gas, or at least that is how it is supposed to work.

Your gains will be tremendous at the least. Stock compression on the 5.3 is like 9.5 to 1 so with the bigger combustion chambers it will drop compression somewhere in the neighborhood of 8.5 to 1 which is good for a lot of boost. Only thing to be worried about is getting the belt not to slip.
