Default Lower 4x4???

Don't flame, just toying with the idea of lowering my truck a little, like 2"F, 3"R. I figure in AZ I won't need the clearance and it would be nice to handle a little better. Just throw on some 18's, lower it, pull the 4x4 sticker off and put on street tires. I need the truck for towing possibly so I don't want to get rid of it. Any thoughts? Yeah I could get a 2wd but I don't want to hurt on traction if there ever comes a time

I don't think its that bad of an idea. Aren't the SS trucks 4WD and slightly lowered? You might be able to do it pretty cheap and easy too. If you get a hanger/shackle kit that will take care of the rear. For the front, you might be able to just "clock" your torsion bars to lower it a couple inches. I'm pretty sure there's companies that make kits though.

Where in AZ are you moving, cuz we have some pretty shitty roads here too (Don't go too low)! It'll be 110*, a monsoon will move in, and cool the asphalt off, it cracks, and literally crumbles as you drive over it. Then you can kiss your alignment goodbye! Pothole city.

I'll be in the Gilbert to Scottsdale area. I was down there last week and the 101 was smooth.

I think a 2"front 4" rear would look great! My friend has a 95' shortbed regular cab that he lowered 2 & 4 with 20's and it looks real sweet. Like a 2wd, but not "slammed" low. I put a 2" shackle kit on the back of mine just to even it out. I imagine with a 2 & 4 your truck would sit about like my 2wd. Peel off the 4x4 and the pinstripe and it would look nice.

shackels are good for 1" and geting rid of the lift blocks are good for 2" for a total of 3" in the rear. you will need 2wd u bolts and the shackles.

in the front i cut the bump stops about in half and loosend the tortion bars. that was only good for about 1.5".

i also striped off the stickers and emblems. now the it just looks like a plain jane 2wd. not a bad look for a sleeper.

I did peel the pin stripe off and I took the silvy/chevy emblems off of the back. I think I may do this when I get there and finally install all my other crap. So it can be done pretty cheaply huh. Looking better and better. Although I do need some 18's so I can get the Bear Eradispeed +1 kit. Damn money tree needs to grow!!!!

Parish, got pics?

Not bad. Are you gonna put some lightweight wheels on that thing? Add to the pimp factor?
