Default low-end torque+ LSx motor, is it possible?

it's a given that the LS motors lack the low end grunt that most older small blocks seem to offer. what's it take to get some more usable "truck" power out of one of these motors?

big blocks always produce low end, and the general conception is that a stroker does too.

would a 408 with L92's and an LS6 cam run worth a f*ck for real-world, trailer pulling power? or would it be a dog down low like everything else, and run out of breath up top?

If you want more power from an LSx motor, your choices are:
(1) more displacement (i.e. 400+ci)
(2) twin-screw/roots blower
(3) 3200+ RPM converter

Of course, choice number three is the easiest...you simply bypass that useless, low-RPM stuff.

Yah I was thinking that toooo.

Small split dur cam, small primarys, with some gears, blower or FI will also be a def way to achieve this, or a big CI motor, like has been said..

So your saying you would rather have a GEN1 SBC that makes 300 lb ft from 1500-4000 then falls on its **** because the head designs are HORRIBLY inefficient compared to the cathedral port LS types..........
