i want to get a popping sound under acceleration, can i just take off my muffler and have straight 3inch? right now i have a flowmaster with an e-cutout, and with the cutout open it will not pop under acceleration. On the other hand my friend has a 6.0 chevy and he only took off his stock muffler to get his to pop. what do yall think? this will be temporary until i get a magnaflow.

take the muffler(s) out .. add pipe in its place and dump it... you will have plenty of pop then. not my personal fav but hey if you like it then its easy to achieve.

If you want it to pop just cut off the exhaust at the y-pipe and run true dual straight pipes the rest of the way back. That's what I used to have on mine and it sounded damn good. Expect to lose some lowend though.

Also reduce the duels after the 3in. Go to eh 2 1/4 or 2 1/2. then run them out the back.
