Default Looking for more airflow

When it comes time to increase airflow into the engine, i have a question. It seems as if no one likes aftermarket maf sensors, why? and can you use, say a larger motor's GM part? maybe an 8.1 or something?

Throttle bodies, same thing, but just thinking in terms of money, maybe an ls1, ls2, ls6, ls7, or 8.1 throttle body? just throwing things up in the air,

The aftermarket MAF's seem to have a negative effect on performance...from what I've researched they seem to make the engine run lean, can lead to detonation, KR, etc. I'm not sure if other factory MAF's can be swapped in though, that's a good thought if so.
