Default looking at LS7 that was in blaze

I found an 07 LS7 locally for 1k but the Z06 it was in suffered an engine fire. Intake, all plastic parts and harness are destroyed along with front clip. Would it be wise to mess with an aluminum block/heads that was in such a fire? I've seen a few truck motors for sale with fire damage and always passed on them thinking they were trash....but this is an LS7

the original post says they are asking $1k for the engine.

I'd personally pass on an engine that suffered a fire, but to each their own I guess. I really don't know materials properties, so I can't say if the aluminum would still be good or not.

Oooppsss, sorry.
You could part out the rear end for more than that and make a buck but you would need to take a picture of the block...hard to tell but I'd say no.

yea I might as well try to find something better, I tried pricing some of the dry sump specific parts, coilpacks, intake/injectors and other pieces to make it whole again and i'm already up to $1300 on ebay for used parts .......so $2300 for a motor with no idea if it would even run right again without a major teardown
