We could do a budget rebuild, or step it up some. Have him give me a call at the shop.

his truck is a 305, and he wants to upgrade to 350. shortblock route is his best idea, because he wants to install aftermarket heads....so he's looking for a 350 shortblock 4 bolt, that he can just bite the bullet on the core.

It just so happens I have a 350 Vortec motor in our storage building. I would need some more info before I can give you any kind of a price. Best bet would be to call me at the shop tomorrow.
