Default Are longtubes worth it?

Been thinking about putting longtubes on my truck, I have shortys on there now with ORY and was wondering if it would be worth the money to swap them out. I also have a comp XR265 hi lift if that helps any.

If you want the best performance you can get? Yes. If you are happy at the level you're at, no. Depends on your goals.

I posted something a few years ago here and you can take it for what you want . Back when I had the 5.3 /4l60e stock w/ tune I changed the Gibson shortys to longtubes and no other changes went to the 1/8th mi and ran exactly the same times as the week before with shortys.
It def sounded faster, the long tubes are louder and maybe just maybe a new tune would have helped. I would say that a small cube stockish motor with no major mods comming down the road the shortys will be fine. But people will tell you otherwise...............

If its all u have cash for prob better off doing cam swap for more power/$ ratio. If ur planning to do blower or heads, then the LT's are worth the effort. It really depends what u realistically think ull get done to accompany the LT's. R/
