Default long tubes or short's

whats up i have a 2000 silverado with a 5.3l and i want to put headers on it but i dont no if i should do lt or short's my truck is also lowered 3/4 i will have pics soon

most people that use shortys dont gain as much as people that use the lt's..... i love my lt's i recomend them

LT's will give better performance.

I have a 4/2 drop and no clearance issues with the long tubes. Shortys are a waste of money, the dynos have proven it.

Waste of money? I dont think i'd say that. LT's a better way to spend your money, ok.

Most people will say longtubes because they give you more horsepower/torque and they're not really expensive. I don't know if you care but some states do not allow longtubes because they change the location of the cats and O2 sensors. Good quality shortys (like JBA ) will give you a small increase in horsepower/torque and they are 50 state legal. The only downfall is I don't think they are worth the price you have to pay for them.

No, Im sticking to my story, if you do the math the shortys will only give you under 10hp for what 400 bucks? That is not very good. IMO

Ok friend. You have a right to your opinion.
Tell you what, you send me a set of quality LT head pipes and see if they will get me from 497hp to 500hp+?

My coated Dynatechs will get you to that 500 mark! But you can't have them!
There are some mid lengths that I heard work almost as great as LT's but I forget who makes them.
I vote Dynatech LT's!!

I've had both, and definitely recommend LT's. Used to have Gibson shorties, they were basically cool looking exhaust manifolds that cost alot of green. I didn't even get the placebo effect after installing them . Now I have StainlessWorks LT's with the catted y-pipe, and the gains are noticeable according to my butt-o-meter .
