Most people will say longtubes because they give you more horsepower/torque and they're not really expensive. I don't know if you care but some states do not allow longtubes because they change the location of the cats and O2 sensors. Good quality shortys (like JBA
) will give you a small increase in horsepower/torque and they are 50 state legal. The only downfall is I don't think they are worth the price you have to pay for them.

Ok friend. You have a right to your opinion.
Tell you what, you send me a set of quality LT head pipes and see if they will get me from 497hp to 500hp+?
My current headers are JBA shorty's

I've had both, and definitely recommend LT's. Used to have Gibson shorties, they were basically cool looking exhaust manifolds that cost alot of green. I didn't even get the placebo effect after installing them
. Now I have StainlessWorks LT's with the catted y-pipe, and the gains are noticeable according to my butt-o-meter
