Default Long Tubes

Im looking for a set of headers for my 1999 silverado, preferably long tubes, as Ive been told shorties are useless. Does anyone have a particular set that they have and like better than others? How much work is involved on installing a set. My truck is also a 4wd.

Try Pacesetter or OBX headers if you want to try and stay within a certain budget. They are affordable.

I have Lpp headers. paid 500 new with y pipe. Time involved depends on mileage on the truck and rusty bolts. Soak down the manifold bolts with some lube a few times before removing them. Sometimes they can be a bitch to remove. I would say 4-6 hours for one person to install them. Good luck!

I went with ceramic coated Pacesetter and off-road Y pipes from Texas Speed. Here is my install guide:

I just pulled the trigger on long tubes, collector and a tune.
It should make a big difference as I have shorties, cai and a 180 'stat. The builder said I should see some value from the cai now!

Also, I have a buddy in dallas I think I convinced to join the site.

I bought cal speed headers for $350 shipped, he has a deal on customgm...many bash the headers, but for the price, they couldn't be beat imo.

It really depends on your price range, how fast you need them, and relevant stock supplies.

I've got Cal speeds. If I were to do it over again it would be American racing without a doubt! And your 4x4 yet to boot...
