Default Long tube headers for 5.3L

I have decided to chunk my edelbrock shortys for some long tubes for my 5.3L. Which are the best(ASM, SLP,QTP, etc..), how much more hp could I expect over my shortys, will I notice a diference?
SOUND CLIPS WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU GUYS COULD POST SOME!!!!!!!!!!
List what other exhaust mods you have so I can determine what mine will sound like. Another question, I'm dying to get my truck to sound some what like an SS or WS6 with long tubes, will my truck sound anywhere near what they sound like with longtubes? I have true duel Flows with a Magnaflow x-pipe right now, add the long tubes, would that sound pretty good? Also I herd that long tubes will hurt my emissions, what experiences have you guys had with them trying to get your trucks inspected? Thanks, any suggestions will be appreciated.

im not sure how close to a fbody your rig will sound since its a smaller
displacement motor. and the fbodys have a single exhaust. i dont see
the duals doing anything but making noise. long tubes will help out
bottom end. but i dont think the dealer will appreciate long tubes.

obviously the FLP's will be more $$$ because there is no welding involved since you remove the stock cat and replace it the one that comes on the kit. these i think run around $1200-1300. the ASM are cheaper (~$700-800) but welding is necessary. i think some guys here said that they noticed the coating on the ASM headers went bad in a short period of time. i guess you might have to decide if you want to put them in yourself or have some one do it for you and weld your cat. that might help you decide which brand to get. if i had a newer truck i probably would buy the FLP's.

I have a set of TOG headers. I like them a lot, but I noticed they made my truck run rish as hell. I think what it was is the o2 sensros were moved further back so they were cooler and getting a false reading telling the pcm it was running lean or something. I just had them coated. I hope this helps them out. If I were to do it again, I'd prolly get the ASM's. I would give the TOG's a look though.

BTW .. I just had my headers coated for 97 bux at a local coating shop.
