Default Long crank 4.8

I picked up a 4.8 out of a 5 speed (NV3500) 99 Silverado. I'm looking at mating it up to a T56 for a swap project, but am not sure how the slightly longer crank will affect things. Any input or solutions to get everything to work properly?
Ive been hunting around and seen everything from a spacer for the trans, milling down the input shaft, and not doing anything and letting it roll. Looking for a definitive answer.

Depends on what T-56 you have. If it is out of a LT1 you should be golden. If it is a LS T-56 you have an input shaft that is too long and will have too make some changes.

It's an ls t56 I was talking to a friend though that said it wouldn't be any issue to just swap input shafts for an lt style. I'm skeptical on whether or not it's just that simple though.
