Anyone else see this article?

LPE tuned :eyes: 5.3L "cranks" out 458 hp (at the crank).
- 1 3/4" headers
- LPE hyd. roller cam .631/.631
- LPE CNC ported heads ( $1,595.00)
- 30lb/hr fuel injectors
- Comp Cams LSX intake ($800.00)

458hp/392tq ...at the crank.

yea i got both articles on the project. Very nice gains and the parts arent that much money. You can get the milder cam on sale from the for like 250 I think.

seems pretty cool, but as for bang for the buck mods the LSX intake is pretty damn expensive for the gains IMO

yup, that and the throttle body are some expensive shiite

Since 99.9% of 5.3 motors are in trucks I wish they would of picked a cam that was more suited for trucks. And you are right that LSX shit if expensive.

They chose a big cam because they wanted to illustrate the big power potential for relatively low cost.

$3000 dollars put them what.... 170HP over stock.

Soon we will be able to do the LS2 intake which is much less then the LSX and comparable.
