Over the past 10 months:

Stock
Single in/dual out 5x8x18 MagnaFlow dumped. To quiet-good performance
Single in/dual out Flowmaster 40 series dumped. Sucked. Sounded great-lost much performance.
Dual in/dual out 4x9x14 MagnaFlow with x-core dumped. 2.5" pipe from stock y-pipe split. Great performance-too quiet.
MagnaFlow X-pipe into dual DynoMax Bullet Race Mufflers dumped. Great sound-great performance, this is current setup.

Next month: Bassani mid-lenght headers and dual QTEC Electric Cutouts.

Default exhaust set ups,,,,,

guess im a little slow,,,or just a quick learner,,,,,,,first was a magna flow 3 in 3 out,,,,got bored with it bein too quiet,,,went to a huge *** 3.5 inch big block 3 chamber flowmaster,,,,,,,and it got even quieter,,lol,,,now,,i got a 3.5 inch bullet/(aka resonator),,,3 inch pipe the rest of the way,,,out stock location,,,exhaust manifolds,,and am very happy with it,,,,,thorley headers soon,,then i will be done,,,,,,unless i get a sts,,then ill either cut the bullet out and straight to sts,,or leave it in.

1) I had a 3 chamber flowmaster with tips out the back and it was so quiet it sounded stock.

2) Then i got a mellotone 2 1/2 single in 2 1/2 dual out (replica of the old flowmaster 1 chamber) with tundowns right after the muffler. sounded good but not enough for me.

3) Then did 2 1/2 inch true dual with two 1 chamber flowmasters both single in, single out with turndowns right after the mufflers.

4) Then i had a magnaflow x-pipe welded in with two 2 1/2 inch manual cutouts welded in right after that.

Current system: 2 1/2" true dual into a magnaflow x-pipe into 2 1/2 inch manual cutouts into 2 single chamber flowmaster mufflers with dumps right after the mufflers. I kept my cats so i didnt have to worry about inspection. The system sounds good. I open the cutouts when i want it mean and loud and close them when i want to let my neighbors sleep. lol. took time and money but ill be happy for awhile!!!

I have made quite a few exhaust changes myself...

-SI/DO Magnaflow split out the back with 3.5" tips
-Had PV Venturi added.
-Hamm Headers, stock y & cats, true 2.5" duals with magnaflow x and mufflers, dumped.
-!cats
-Extended piping out the back to reduce resonance (didn't like it)
-Back to dumps
-Full redo of piping with all mandral bends and added bullets infront of magnaflows.
Next on the list is to go back to a single 3" setup once I get a set of ASMs from a friend. ASMs, custom mandral bent Y with Flowmaster collector, 3" QTP cutout to a large case Magnaflow exiting infront of the rear pass tire.

don't feel bad smoke, there are some of us here who are suckers for that flowmaster sound.

custom cat back true dual. 2 40 series flows, stainless tips turned so it exits at a 45* angle at the corners of my bumper. not out the back not out the side. on a cold michigan morning, steam rolls out after i'm done driving. i like to call it the smoking gun
