thanks alot guys
I think im going to do it in 2 stages:
Stage 1 just to get it running for next summer;
-asp pulley(stock one is chipped anyways)
-ram air/k&ns
-exhaust(hopefully fit some mid lengths)
-emissions delete
-fuel system upgrades
-computer tune
then next winter hopefully i can add:
stall
cam
ls6 intake
updated computer
sound good?

Yeah, a new cam is about $400... springs, usually Comp 918's - $150?. Pushrods - $120. You can buy things used on here and generally chop up to 50% off those prices.
The swap itself is pretty easy - it's just really time consuming when the engine is installed. With it out, an no "deadlines" to worry about, it would honestly be pretty fun.
It's a little more stressfull when the motor is installed and you rely on it to work properly immediately after you're done.
224/224 are the durations most people start with when running LS1's.
I ran a 220/220 for a little while in my heavy 6.0 powered truck, and it was a bit much for my daily driving. The smaller 210/218 here is all about torque - it's great even with a stock converter and mostly stock tuning.
Either way, if you want to save a bit for the heavier mods, your plan above sounds good...

is it safe buying a cam and acc used like that? I dont mind saving some cash and putting used parts on my truck but im just wondering if a cam is taking too big of a chance?
Considering this truck has been in my garage bay for over a year now i think it would be safe to say im not in a big hurry lol. Lots on top of lots of work done to it. I read a how to about a cam install..seemed pretty straight forward.
anyone wanna give me a guess at flywheel hp and rwhp after stage 2??
thanks alot
Jim
