Lifter marks on cam...

I was looking to buy a cam for my LQ4 and a guy had one that would be a good fit but he said there were some lifter marks on it. I don't know alot about cams so I was wondering if this is normal or what...

we would need pics. lifter marks could range from normal to stay away... ask him if theres any pitting or anything tell him to run his finger nail across it and see if he feels anything

Ask for pics, ALL used cams have "lifter marks" on them. Post some pics and Ill be able to tell you if its good or not.

He said he is taking it to a local racing shop to get their opinion but I am still asking him for some better pics...

if you can feel them, then no..but if they are just visible marks and cannot feel anything then go for it..all the cams ive got have had visible marks but nuthing that i could feel
