Default Less weight= better times???

Im ditching the factory bumper for a SS fiberglass roll pan. Im also ditching the spare tire and replacing the hood with a b@d@ss fiberglass ram air hood. How much weight would I be saving?? Is it worth anything??

These trucks are very light as they are in the rear. This is the reason we have so many traction problem. I'd say just get rid of the spare in the rear and try to get as much weight as you can in the front. For 100 pounds you loose it = about .1 reduction in 1/4 et.

spare-65

hood-40?

bumper-25?
All in all probably 100-125. 100 lbs is good for 1/10th in the 1/4.

My spare weighed 54lbs

That was on my 01' Z71 so equipt with a 265/75/16 Wilderness T/A.

Tailgate weighs 45lbs

Back seat in my truck (etx cab) weighs 65lbs

Between all that and my subwoofers I shed about 200lbs on race day. I weigh in at 4750lbs with 1/4 tank of gas and no driver.

anyone ever tried a carbon fiber hood? figured if your changing hoods, this would be better for weight reduction than a fiberglass.
